Lebanon’s Defence Minister Freezes Weapon Permits In Nabatiyeh

BEIRUT, Sept 8 (NNN-NNA) – Minister of National Defence, Elias Abu Saab, issued a statement on Saturday, announcing a decision to freeze weapon permits, in Nabatiyeh region.

The Minister’s decision takes effect in the Nabatiyeh region as of 06/09/2019 through 11/09/2019, as per a statement issued by the Minister’s office. 

However, this decision excludes the following:

A. Weapon permits for diplomats.
B. Weapon permits for body guards of current and former ministers, deputies, heads of political parties and religious communities.
C. Weapon permits granted to the employees of foreign embassies, when accompanying a diplomatic figure.
D. Permits to carry magnetic weapons.

The statement also pointed out that, any violation of the provisions of this resolution, subjects the perpetrator to the most severe penalties, especially prosecution.– NNN-NNA
