Over 1,500 Birds Die Suspiciously In Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Mongolia, Sept 5 (NNN-MONGOLIA WEB) – A total of 1,521 birds of 16 different species have died in suspicious circumstances, in western Mongolia, since late Aug, the country’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said today (Thursday).

“A total of 1,521 birds of 16 species such as brown geese, gulls and shelducks have died in suspicious circumstances, around Baga lake in Durvuljin Soum of Zavkhan Province,”NEMA said in a statement.

A working group, consisting of 22 officials from relevant organisations, such as NEMA and the National Centre for Zoonotic Diseases, are working at the site to determine causes of deaths, according to the emergency agency.– NNN-MONGOLIA WEB
