BEIRUT, Sept 4 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanon on Tuesday, urged Turkish Foreign Ministry, to clarify its negative remarks against Lebanese President, Michel Aoun.

“We suggest the Turkish Foreign Ministry issue a statement, clarifying its negative stance towards the Lebanese president,” Ghadi Khoury, director of political affairs at the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Hakan Cakil.

Cakil was summoned by the Lebanese foreign ministry, over remarks made on Sunday by the Turkish Foreign Ministry against Aoun.

Aoun said, the Ottomans practised terror against the Lebanese, especially during World War One, causing
famine to hundreds of thousands of victims, conscription and forced labour.
