Iran Condemns Deadly Airstrikes On Yemen Prison By Saudi-Led Coalition

TEHRAN, Iran, Sept 2 (NNN-IRNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry, on Sunday, strongly condemned the deadly airstrikes on a Yemen prison by the Saudi-led coalition.

In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, said that, “the bombardment of the detention centre was the latest war crime, committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.”

The Saudi-led coalition commits these “crimes” by using U.S. and other western countries’ weapons, Mousavi said, adding that, the Yemeni people hold the U.S. and some western countries “responsible for these crimes.”

At least 60 prisoners of war were killed, when the Saudi-led coalition launched a series of airstrikes overnight, on a prison in Yemen’s central province of Dhamar, the Houthi-controlled health ministry said in a statement, early Sunday morning.– NNN-IRNA
