Lebanon’s PM Slams “Israeli Attack” Over Beirut’s Southern Suburbs

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug 26 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, slammed the “Israeli attack” over Beirut’s southern suburbs, which constitutes a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.

Hariri assured that, he is in touch with President Michel Aoun and House Speaker, Nabih Berri, to agree on the next measures that should be taken, following the incident which constitutes a threat to regional stability and an attempt for further escalations.

Hariri also called upon the international community to support Lebanon, in protecting UN Security Council resolution 1701, against Israeli violations.

“The Lebanese government will also assume full responsibility by taking proper action against any threat to national security and stability,” he said.

An Israeli drone went down over the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital Beirut, early Sunday morning, while a second drone exploded in the air, causing severe damage to a media centre of the Hezbollah.

Hezbollah’s media adviser, Mohamad Afif, was quoted as saying that, Hezbollah is currently observing the drone that did not explode, to investigate reasons behind its flights over Beirut and the operations it was planning to implement.– NNN-NNA
