AMMAN, Jordan, Aug 7 (NNN-PETRA) – The Chinese embassy in Jordan, signed a deal with the White Beds Society, to build an external hall for an elderly facility, affiliated to the society, Chinese Ambassador, Pan Weifang, said Tuesday.
The Chinese envoy made the announcement, while attending the opening ceremony for the elderly day care facility, benefiting the society in Jwaideh, south of the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The Chinese embassy donated furniture for the facility, and will cover the cost of its maintenance in future.
Pan said, China’s donation reflects the Chinese government’s keenness to help the elderly and provide decent living for them in Jordan.
He added that, the donation reflects the strategic and excellent relationship between the two countries, noting that, there is good cooperation between Jordan and China, in key areas of industry, investment, youth, social work and local administration.
The Chinese envoy also highlighted China’s experience in providing care for the elderly, noting that, there is potential for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in this regard.
Maysoon Armouti, head of the White Beds Society, voiced appreciation to China, for its donation and support.
She added that the society has an understanding with the Chinese embassy to boost ties in future.– NNN-PETRA
