ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (NNN-APP) – Thirteen terrorists were killed, in clashes with security forces, in Pakistan’s north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said, yesterday.
The security forces conducted operations in Bannu and Kurram districts of the province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said, in a statement.
During the operation in Bannu, intense fire exchange took place between security forces and the terrorists, as a result of which eight terrorists were killed, the ISPR said.
Separately, five terrorists were killed, in an intelligence-based operation in Kurram district of the province.
The ISPR added that, the killed terrorists remained actively involved in attacks against security forces, as well as, the target killing of civilians in the area.
Sanitisation operation is being carried out, to eliminate the presence of other terrorists from the area, it added.
The military said, the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.– NNN-APP
