Over 136 Kg Of Drugs Seized In Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Jan 10 (NNN-KNA) – Kyrgyz anti-drug authorities, seized more than 136 kg of drugs from a transnational organised crime drug trafficking group, it was reported, yesterday.

According to the Anti-Drug Trafficking Service, of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the group had long been involved in the smuggling and sales of Afghan-origin drugs, through Kyrgyzstan, on a large scale.

Seven members of the organised drug group were arrested, and one other individual was identified and placed on the international wanted list. They were identified as citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, said the report.

A batch of drugs of Afghan origin, including over 20 kg of opium and more than 116 kg of hashish, was seized from the residences of the detainees, as well as, from specially equipped hiding places, including in vehicles, it said.

Criminal cases have been opened on the grounds of crimes, stipulated by the Kyrgyz legislation, it reported.– NNN-KNA
