Ministries Instructed To Expedite Digitalisation: Malaysian PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (NNN-BERNAMA) – All ministries and government departments are to expedite the shift to online processes, as part of ongoing bureaucratic reforms, Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, said yesterday.

In a speech, addressing cabinet members and civil servants, on the occasion of the new year, Anwar said, digitalisation saves time, improves service quality, and reduces administrative red tape that burdens the public, and that, new technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI), could be utilised to prepare draft responses to official correspondence.

Anwar also cited a number of other measures to implement reforms, aimed at protecting public interests, particularly in ensuring that development costs for affordable housing and low-cost projects do not continue to rise, as well as, tackling the cost of living, especially in stable food products like eggs and chicken, and the disbursement of direct cash aid to the public.– NNN-BERNAMA
