Pakistan’s Inflation Eased To 5.6 Percent In Dec

ISLAMABAD, Jan 2 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s consumer price index (CPI) inflation, eased to 5.6 percent year on year, in Dec, down from 6.1 percent in Nov, official data showed, yesterday.

On a month-on-month basis, CPI inflation fell by 0.4 percent in Dec, reversing the trend of recent increases, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), said.

During the first half of the current fiscal year (Jul-Dec, 2025), average inflation stood at 5.15 percent, lower than 7.22 percent recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year, reflecting moderating price pressures.

Urban CPI inflation rose by 5.8 percent, year on year, in Dec, easing from the previous month, while rural CPI inflation grew by 5.4 percent, both showing slower annual increases, compared with Nov figures.– NNN-APP
