5.7-Magnitude Earthquake Hits SW Iran, Kills One

TEHRAN, Iran, July 9 (NNN-IRNA) – A 5.7-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale, struck Masjid Soleiman region, in south-west Iran’s Khuzestan province, on Monday, killing one person and injuring several others,
Iranian Seismological Centre reported.

The epicentre of the earthquake, which occurred at 11:30 local time (0700 GMT), was monitored at the depth of 17 km, 34.847 degrees north latitude, and 45.762 degrees east longitude.

No other casualties have been reported by the authorities, so far.– NNN-IRNA
