HANOI, Dec 11 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam’s 15th National Assembly, yesterday, passed a Law on Cybersecurity, which introduces specific regulations, to safeguard vulnerable groups in cyberspace.
In addition to children, the law extends protection to older people and people with cognitive difficulties, said the report.
It outlines detailed responsibilities for state agencies, organisations, enterprises and families, in preventing harmful content, establishing technical support tools and strictly addressing violations of children’s rights online.
The law also incorporates provisions of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime into national legislation, creating a legal basis for information sharing, joint investigations and efforts to combat cross-border cybercrime.
The law will take effect on July 1, 2026.– NNN-VNA
