KABUL, Nov 30 (NNN-BNA) – Afghanistan exported 645 tonnes of pine nuts valued at around nine million U.S. dollars, over the past eight months, local media reported, today.
The pine nuts, one of the country’s most valuable export commodities, have primarily been shipped to key trading partners, including China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, local media outlet TOLOnews quoted, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as saying.
Pine nuts, which are mostly harvested from Afghanistan’s eastern forests, represent a critical source of foreign exchange for the country.– NNN-BNA
