PUTRAJAYA, Nov 27 (Bernama) — The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, a statutory body under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), today organised the Pre-ISES 2026 Forum on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel as part of the lead-up to the 7th International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2026.
With the theme “Resilient Battery Storage for Tropical Climate,” the forum marks a key milestone in SEDA Malaysia’s preparations for ISES 2026, themed “Envisioning Sustainable Energy Beyond Borders.” Aligned with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the event underscores the critical role of battery energy storage in addressing grid instability in a decentralised renewable generation, solar power intermittency—particularly the “duck curve”—and ensuring Malaysia’s future energy system is flexible, resilient, and capable of supporting higher renewable energy penetration.
