Fire Broke Out At Factory In S. Korea’s Gyeonggi, Killing One

SEOUL, Nov 24 (NNN-YONHAP) – A fire broke out at a corrugated cardboard manufacturing factory in Anseong City, Gyeonggi province, South Korea, leaving one person dead, yesterday.

Local fire authorities, judging that the flames were intense and could spread to surrounding areas, issued a Level 1 response and deployed approximately 30 pieces of equipment and 110 personnel to extinguish the fire.

During this process, factory workers reported that “one person appears to be trapped.” Fire authorities immediately launched a search and found the body of a worker on the second floor of the factory, after extinguishing the flames.

Police believed that the deceased worker sought a meal in the cafeteria break room with two other employees, but was unable to escape.– NNN-YONHAP
