31st ASEAN Transport Ministers’ Meeting Held In Myanmar

YANGON, Nov 21 (NNN-MNA) – The 31st ASEAN Transport Ministers’ Meeting was held in Myanmar’s Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday, the state-owned daily, The Global New Light of Myanmar reported, today.

A total of 187 delegates, including ministers from Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, dialogue partners, the ASEAN Secretary-General, and senior officials, attended the meeting.

Union Minister for Transport and Communications, U Mya Tun Oo, said that, the transport sector plays an essential role in linking economic activities, facilitating trade, supporting socioeconomic development, and enhancing people-to-people connectivity, the report said.

He noted that ASEAN’s regional transport connectivity has strengthened and achieved significant progress, in developing a long-term and sustainable transport sector, according to the report.– NNN-MNA
