Jordan, Palestine Stress Need To Consolidate Gaza Ceasefire, Deploy Int’l Stabilisation Force

AMMAN, Nov 19 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordanian Prime Minister, Jafar Hassan, and Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Mustafa, underlined here yesterday, the importance of building on growing international recognition of the State of Palestine, consolidating the Gaza ceasefire, and facilitating the deployment of an international stabilisation force in Gaza.

During their talks, Hassan reiterated Jordan’s firm positions in support of the Palestinian people, their legitimate rights, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Hassan said, Jordan will continue providing humanitarian, medical, and relief assistance to Gaza, through field hospitals, the “Restoring Hope” initiative, and treatment for injured children and cancer patients. He also expressed support for reform efforts led by the Palestinian Authority and emphasised the importance of strengthening Palestinian resilience.

He reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of threats, repression, and aggression by Israel and Israeli settlers against Palestinians, underscoring his country’s commitment to safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Mustafa briefed Hassan on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, including efforts to maintain the Gaza ceasefire, halt ongoing attacks in the West Bank, and address Israeli-imposed economic, social, and security restrictions.– NNN-PETRA
