Four Tonnes Of ICE Seized In Southern Myanmar

YANGON, Nov 19 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities seized four tonnes of ICE (methamphetamine), in the southern Ayeyarwady region, the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television reported, yesterday.

Acting on a tip-off, security personnel raided a warehouse in Pathein township, on Nov 5, and confiscated narcotics that were stored underground at the warehouse, the report said.

A total of 24 suspects were arrested in connection with the case in various townships, it said.

Investigations showed that the narcotics were transported from Shan state and stored in Pathein, in Ayeyarwady region.

The suspects are to be charged under the country’s laws, and further investigations are ongoing, the report added.– NNN-MNA
