KATHMANDU, Nov 18 (NNN-XINHUA) – Foreign direct investment (FDI) commitment to Nepal, more than doubled year-on-year, in the first four months of the current 2025-26 fiscal year, the Department of Industry said in a report, yesterday.
The country received a commitment worth 36.68 billion Nepali rupees (258.26 million U.S. dollars) between mid-July to mid-Nov, which was 17.03 billion rupees, during the same period in the previous fiscal year, according to the report.
The commitment amount is for 382 projects, with an aim to generate 33,814 new jobs. The highest pledge is for the agriculture sector, in terms of budget, while the information and communication technology and tourism sectors are ahead in terms of the number of projects.– NNN-XINHUA
