DHAKA, Nov 16 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh will implement a nine-day special security plan, for the 13th general election, slated for Feb next year, Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Adviser, Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, said yesterday.
The plan could be adjusted, based on how the situation develops in the country, he said.
He said that, 30,000 Bangladeshi soldiers were currently on duty, and the number will increase to almost 100,000, to provide security for the election.
Other security forces will also help keep everything safe and under control during the election, the adviser added.
The general election will be held in Feb, next year, for the first time since a mass uprising toppled the then Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, last year.– NNN-BSS
