ISTANBUL, Nov 15 (NNN-TRT) – Turkish authorities detained 138 suspects, including three alleged ringleaders, in a major crackdown on international organised crimes across 22 provinces, yesterday, Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, said.
The operation, dubbed “Orkinos Bulut-2,” targeted five international organised criminal groups, accused of forming criminal networks, trafficking narcotics, and laundering assets, obtained through illegal activities, with security teams conducting simultaneous raids at locations reportedly used by the networks, Yerlikaya wrote on social media platform X.
He added, all those detained were high-ranking members of the groups.
According to the minister, the suspects were linked to the trafficking of 18.1 tonnes of narcotics and stimulants, as well as 1.3 million stimulant tablets seized in Türkiye and abroad.– NNN-TRT
