BISHKEK, Nov 15 (NNN-KNA) – Kyrgyzstan’s GDP increased by 10 percent, year on year, in the Jan-Oct period, reaching approximately 1,427.4 billion soms (16.3 billion U.S. dollars), according to preliminary estimates, released by the country’s National Statistical Committee, yesterday.
The growth was driven by strong performances in commodity production, services and net taxes on products, which rose by 11.3 percent, 8.8 percent and 10.8 percent, respectively, compared with the same period last year.
Industrial output increased by 9.8 percent, in the first 10 months of the year, while construction surged by 27.7 percent. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries posted a modest rise of two percent.– NNN-KNA
