PHNOM PENH, Nov 11 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodia and Iran, yesterday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation, said a news release from the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism.
The deal was inked between Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Huot Hak and Reza Salehi Amiri, Iranian minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the 26th Session of the United Nations Tourism General Assembly.
Hak said that, with a population of more than 90 million, Iran would be a potential tourism market for Cambodia.
Through the MoU, Cambodia can diversify its market to the Middle East, expand Muslim-friendly tourism, and create value-added tourism products and heritage tourism, to reach out to Iranian tourists, he said.– NNN-AKP
