BEIRUT, Nov 10 (NNN-NNA) – Two Hezbollah members were murdered, yesterday, in separate Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon.
According to the report, an Israeli drone fired two guided missiles at a car, near Al-Ma’sarah, on the Houmine Al-Fawqa road in Nabatieh district, killing one person. A second strike targeted a pickup truck between Al-Sawwaneh and Khirbet Selm, in south-eastern Lebanon, killing another.
A Lebanese military intelligence source said that, the victims were Hezbollah members: engineer Abbas Al-Jawad, murdered in Houmine Al-Fawqa, and Hassan Ali Sultan, murdered near Al-Sawwaneh.
In separate news, the Israeli army is carrying out excavation work, at a new military site near Aitaroun in south-western Lebanon.
A Lebanese military intelligence official said, the expansion is part of Israel’s efforts to reinforce one of five fortified positions along the border. The Israeli team, equipped with bulldozers and excavators, is building earth berms, fortified shelters for armoured vehicles, and surveillance structures overlooking Lebanese territory.
A U.S.- and French-brokered ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel has been in place since Nov 27, 2024, ending the clashes that followed the Gaza war. Despite the truce, the Israeli regime continues strikes in Lebanon, citing the need to eliminate alleged Hezbollah “threats,” and maintains five main positions along the border.– NNN-NNA
