SYDNEY, Nov 6 (NNN-AAP) – Four people have been found dead, following a house fire in the north-eastern Australian state of Queensland, this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a property, in the central Queensland town of Emerald, over 650 km north-west of the state capital of Brisbane, shortly before 7.00 a.m. local time, this morning.
The fire was contained, and four bodies were subsequently located inside the premises.
According to media reports, the deceased were a man and three children.
Queensland Premier, David Crisafulli, told reporters that, the accident was an incredible tragedy.
“On behalf of everyone, I really want to express my deepest, deepest sympathies to the family, but also the neighbours and emergency services involved,” he said.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire.– NNN-AAP
