TEHRAN, Nov 1 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, on Thursday, condemned the United States’ plan to resume nuclear weapons testing, calling it a “serious threat” to international peace and security.
Araghchi made the comments on social media platform X, hours after U.S. President, Donald Trump, said on Thursday that, he had “instructed the Department of War to start testing our nuclear weapons.”
Araghchi said, the United States poses the world’s “most dangerous proliferation risk,” and urged the international community to hold Washington accountable for “normalising the proliferation of such heinous weapons.”
He also accused Washington of “demonising Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme,” while threatening strikes on Iranian facilities “in blatant violation of international law.”
The United States has long accused Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, a charge Tehran denies. On Jun 22, U.S. forces joined Zionist Israel, in airstrikes on Iran, targeting nuclear sites at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.– NNN-IRNA
