Sri Lankan President Vows To Ensure Investor Security Under New Laws

COLOMBO, Oct 12 (NNN-LNW) – Sri Lankan President, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, said yesterday that, the security of investors and investments coming into the country will be ensured, under the current government.

He made the remarks, during a discussion at the Presidential Secretariat, with a delegation of foreign business representatives visiting the country, to study Sri Lanka’s investment opportunities, business environment and legal framework.

The president said, a secure environment for investments has now been established in Sri Lanka, adding that, the current government is formulating new laws to ensure transparency and stability in the investment process.

Stressing that attracting foreign investment remains a top priority of the government, Dissanayake said, measures are being taken to guarantee investor protection, expand investment opportunities and facilitate investor operations.

The government will also introduce an investment protection act, he added.– NNN-LNW
