World Press Briefing For 2026 Asian Games Wraps Up In Nagoya

NAGOYA, Oct 11 (NNN-NHK) – The two-day World Press Briefing, for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, came to a conclusion yesterday, attracting over 110 media representatives from around the globe.

The 20th Asian Games are scheduled to take place from Sept 19 to Oct 4, 2026, in Nagoya, and other places across Japan. The first edition of World Press Briefing also served as the first on-site inspection of the Games’ preparations for global media organisations.

During the presentation sessions on Thursday, the organising committee briefed the media representatives on functional areas, including accreditation, accommodation, transport, logistics, technology, sports, venues, and the Main Media Centre (MMC), aiming to provide professional guidance and support for the media’s coverage preparations.

“Our aim, as always, will be to provide the best media service for our sports writers, photographers, in order to make your work as smooth and efficient as possible,” said Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA Media & Broadcast director, in his address before the presentations on Thursday.

Yesterday, media representatives toured some competition venues, including the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, which will host the ceremonies and athletics event. The visit also covered the Aichi International Arena, set to stage basketball and judo competitions, and the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium, the venue for badminton.

Also attending the briefing, Aichi governor, Hideaki Ohmura, who serves as president of the 2026 Asian Games organising committee, emphasized the crucial role of media journalists in ensuring the success of the Games.

“The committee hopes to gather sincere feedback from the media through this meeting, and will continue to advance preparations, striving to attract broader media participation and coverage, to host a widely celebrated sporting spectacle,” said Hideaki Ohmura.– NNN-NHK
