KATHMANDU, Oct 5 (NNN-XINHUA) – Six people were killed yesterday, after a sport utility vehicle veered off the road in eastern Nepal, local police said.
The vehicle with 12 people onboard, fell 300 metres down a cliff in Panchthar district, killing six on the spot, said Manoj Kumar Yadav, spokesperson for the district police.
The six others were injured, and poor road conditions could be the cause of the accident, Yadav told Xinhua.
Traffic accidents are common in mountainous Nepal, and hundreds of lives are lost each year.– NNN-XINHUA
