Afghanistan’s Trade Volume Up 30 Percent In Past Six Months

KABUL, Sept 26 (NNN-BNA) – Afghanistan’s trade volume reached 6.783 billion U.S. dollars, in the past six months, with a 30-percent increase year-on-year, local media outlet, TOLOnews, reported yesterday.

The country’s primary export commodities include raisins, figs, cotton, apricots, saffron, pistachios, grapes, beverages, and other agricultural products, TOLOnews quoted Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as saying.

These goods are primarily exported to China, India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iraq, according to the official.

Exports during this period totaled 748 million dollars, up nine percent year-on-year, according to the report.– NNN-BNA
