YANGON, Sept 25 (NNN-MNA) – Three students were killed and four others injured, when a monastery wall collapsed, during heavy rain, in Mon state, southern Myanmar, yesterday afternoon, an official from a local rescue organisation said.
The incident occurred at around 3.00 p.m. yesterday, in Konepawywarthit village, in Lamaing township, Mon state, chairman of the Hnitkayin rescue organisation said.
It was raining heavily, and people had gathered to watch a football match, he said, adding that the children were standing near the monastery’s brick wall.
Two children died on the spot, while another child died on the way to the hospital, he said.
The victims were between 12 and 13 years old, he said.
The injured are receiving treatment at Ye General Hospital, and two of them are seriously injured, he added.– NNN-MNA
