ULAN BATOR, Sept 19 (NNN-APA) – The 38th edition of Mongolia’s National Book Festival, officially opened today, highlighting a variety of genres and topics, including healthy lifestyle, personal growth and self-development, and history and culture of Mongolia.
Under the auspices of Mongolian President, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, the autumn festival is being organised by non-governmental organisation, Nomiin Soyolt Yertunts (World of Book Culture), at the central square of the country’s capital city of Ulan Bator, to promote book culture, inspire children and youth to read more, and foster appreciation for authors and writers.
This year’s book festival, which runs for three days, features more than 300 authors and more than 200 publishing houses and representatives from six countries.
The festival’s programme includes a book fair, meetings with Mongolian writers, and presentations of new books by foreign authors.
First held in 2007, the national book festival has since grown into the largest book event in the country.– NNN-APA
