Two Security Personnel Killed, 30 Injured In Suicide Attack In SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Sept 19 (NNN-APP) – At least two security personnel were killed, and 30 others injured, in a suicide attack on a convoy of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC), in Pakistan’s south-west Balochistan province yesterday, security sources said.

The attack happened when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden vehicle into the convoy of 15 to 16 vehicles, in Dasht area of Kech district of the province, killing two FC personnel on the spot, while injuring at least 30 others, the security sources said.

Following the explosion, two buses of the convoy caught huge fire, which is being put out, said the sources, adding that, the death toll might further rise, as 12 of the injured personnel are in critical condition.

After the blast, security forces, rescue teams and a bomb disposal squad, rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Security forces cordoned off the area, while further investigation is underway.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.– NNN-APP
