NEW DELHI, Sept 7 (NNN-PTI) – At least six people died, when a cargo ropeway trolley, used for carrying construction material up the hill, collapsed and fell from a height, after its cables snapped, in India’s western state of Gujarat yesterday, confirmed a local official, over the phone.
The incident occurred at the Shaktipeeth site, on Pavagadh Hill, in the state’s Panchmahal district.
Senior district official, Ajay Dahiya, reportedly told media that, five people were inside the ropeway trolley, when it collapsed. One more person on the ground also died at the scene, he added.
All the deceased were construction workers. An investigation was ordered, to know the reason of the mishap, and fix accountability on those responsible.– NNN-PTI
