Indonesia’s Capital Market Recorded Over 18 Million Investors

JAKARTA, Sept 3 (NNN-ANTARA) – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), reported yesterday that, the number of capital market investors in the country had reached 18 million, by the end of August, including 7.56 million stock investors.

“Since we launched an awareness campaign in 2023, we gained 2.7 million new investors in the following year, and 3.1 million more up to August this year,” Jeffrey Hendrik, the development director at IDX, told reporters.

Of the 18 million investors, 54.23 percent were under the age of 30, while 24.82 percent were between 31 and 40 years old. The remainder were aged 41 and above.

Hendrik said that, the IDX has been working to promote financial literacy and inclusion in the capital market, supported by 29 IDX representative offices, 970 investment galleries at universities across Indonesia, and over 6,000 capital market ambassadors.

“More than 30,000 educational and outreach activities are held each year, to increase awareness, literacy, and inclusion in the capital market,” he said.– NNN-ANTARA
