Solidarity shipment to arrive in Cuba from Spain’s Valencia

HAVANA, Aug 22 (NNN-ACN) — The third solidarity container of the year destined for Cuba will depart in late August from the port of Valencia, Spain, with materials valued at 70,000 euros for the Quisicuaba community project, according to Prensa Latina.

The shipment is intended for the initiative’s soup kitchen and social and health care program. The donation includes medical supplies and work equipment provided by the Guadassuar city council, the Valencian Communist Party, the Corazon Expres association, and residents of municipalities such as Betera, L’Alfàs del Pi, and Valencia.

3,500 euros were also raised through 26 financial contributions from organizations such as the Rotary Club, Giving4Giving, and the L’Alfàs del Pi city council, intended for the purchase of food and other products.

Euskadi Cuba, the Ernesto Guevara Association of Torrejón de Ardoz, and the José Martí Valencian Association of Friendship with Cuba coordinated the shipment on behalf of the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba.

The shipment was dedicated to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and is the fifth managed with the collaboration of Cuban artist Michel Mirabal, known as the painter of flags.

The Valencian Association of Friendship with Cuba denounced the 61-year-old US economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the island, which has received 31 condemnations from the UN General Assembly. — NNN-ACN
