HAVANA, Aug 10 (NNN-ACN) — Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla highlighted his country’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Cuban diplomat congratulated the regional grouping and its 10 member states on the occasion of its 58th anniversary and reiterated his desire to continue strengthening economic and commercial ties with ASEAN.
Since 2020, Cuba signed the instrument of accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) within the framework of the 37th ASEAN Summit, becoming the first signatory country in the Caribbean and the fifth in Latin America.
The bloc was established on August 8, 1967, and is comprised of Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. — NNN-ACN
