SYDNEY, Aug 5 (NNN-AAP) – A man died and another has been hospitalised in a critical condition, following a workplace incident in north-west Sydney.
Emergency services were called to the incident at a construction site in Carlingford, 18 km north-west of central Sydney, around 9.00 a.m. today, and arrived to find two men with critical injuries.
Local media reported that a concrete pump had fallen on the two men.
Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated both men, aged 40 and 30, before transporting them to hospital.
The 40-year-old died from his injuries in hospital, a police statement said, while the 30-year-old remained in a critical condition, as of this afternoon.
The operator of the construction site, apartment developer, Meriton, said in a statement that, it was coordinating fully with the relevant authorities.– NNN-AAP
