TEHRAN, Jul 28 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran, yesterday, executed two members of the “terrorist group” Mujahedin-e Khalq Organisation (MKO), over their staging an armed uprising against the country’s Islamic establishment.
Identified as Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani Eslamlou, the two MKO members were executed following judicial proceedings, and the upholding of their death sentences by the Supreme Court of Iran, Mizan news agency of the Iranian judiciary reported.
It added that, the convicts made launchers and mortars, targeted citizens and damaged residential units, offices, educational centres and charities, through indiscriminate projectile attacks, seeking to disrupt social order and threaten the safety of innocent citizens.
The report said, they were also convicted of damaging public properties, gathering intelligence and filming their “terrorist” activities, before transmitting the footage to their ringleaders.
Weapons, ammunition and equipment for making mortars were seized after their detentions, it added.
Iran designates the MKO as a terrorist organisation, accusing it of having assassinated tens of thousands of Iranian citizens.– NNN-IRNA
