49 Qatari Aid Trucks Arrived In Egypt, Jordan En Route To Gaza

DOHA, Jul 28 (NNN-QNA) – A total of 49 Qatari aid trucks, carrying humanitarian assistance, arrived in Egypt and Jordan yesterday, as part of Qatar’s continued support to the Palestinian people, the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, yesterday.

The aid, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, in cooperation with Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent, is being delivered to the World Food Programme (WFP), for distribution in the Gaza Strip via the Rafah and Kerem Shalom border crossings, according to the statement.

The ministry stated that, the shipment comprises 4,704 food parcels, 200 tonnes of food supplies, 174 tonnes of flour, and 5,000 units of infant formula.

The ministry emphasised that, the assistance comes amid catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, due to the ongoing blockade.

Local Palestinian sources confirmed that, aid trucks began entering Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing yesterday morning, under the supervision of the Egyptian Red Crescent.

Yesterday, Gaza’s health authorities said in a brief statement that, six new deaths due to starvation and malnutrition, had been recorded in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of malnutrition-related mortality since Oct, 2023, to 133, including 87 children.– NNN-QNA
