GAZA, Jul 27 (NNN-WAFA) – Hospitals in Gaza recorded five new deaths, due to starvation and malnutrition, in the past 24 hours, bringing the over death toll of that kind since Oct, 2023, to 127, including 85 children, Gaza-based health authorities said yesterday, in a brief statement.
Meanwhile, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, Philippe Lazzarini, said on social media platform X that, “A manmade hunger can only be addressed by political will.”
“Lift the siege, open the gates, guarantee safe movements and dignified access to people in need,” Lazzarini said, adding, the agency now has the equivalent of 6,000 trucks in Jordan and Egypt waiting for the green light to get into Gaza.
It is reported that, at least 47 Palestinians, including 17 aid seekers, were murdered by Israeli attacks across Gaza, yesterday, alone.
The Israeli regime’s defence forces said in a statement yesterday that, its air force struck over 100 “militant targets” throughout Gaza over the past day, including “terrorist cells, combat tunnels, military infrastructure, anti-tank missile posts, and weapons storage facilities.”
Since the Zionist Israel resumed its military operations in the enclave on Mar 18, at least 8,581 Palestinians had been murdered and 32,436 others injured, bringing the total death toll since Oct, 2023, to 59,733, and injuries to 144,477, Gaza-based health authorities said yesterday.–NNN-WAFA
