CAIRO, Jul 25 (NNN-MENA) – About 166 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip overnight, Egypt’s Al-Qahera News TV channel quoted an anonymous security source as saying, yesterday.
The source affirmed the entry of the humanitarian relief trucks into the besieged enclave, starting from Wednesday night till the early morning of yesterday, via the Zikim and the Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem border crossings.
The aid included flour, food, and medical supplies, the source said, adding that, “Egypt has been intensifying its efforts with all international parties, to bring more aid into the Gaza Strip, during the current period.”
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, as the Israeli regime halted the entry of goods and supplies into the strip, following the expiration of the first phase of a Jan ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned on Wednesday that, the hunger crisis in Gaza has never been so dire. Aid organisations reported that as mass starvation spreads across the strip, aid workers and those they serve are wasting away.
A new round of indirect talks between Hamas and Israel resumed earlier this month in Qatar’s Doha, amid international efforts to end the conflict and restore humanitarian aid delivery.
The Zionist Israeli military campaign in Gaza, ongoing since Oct, 2023, has resulted in more than 59,210 Palestinian deaths and over 143,040 injuries, according to Gaza-based health authorities.– NNN-MENA
