AMMAN, Jul 24 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan has sent its fourth humanitarian aid convoy to northern Gaza, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation said in a statement, yesterday.
The latest convoy, comprising 36 trucks loaded with food supplies, entered Gaza on Tuesday via the Zikim crossing, between Israel and the enclave.
The operation was carried out in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) and the World Central Kitchen.
The delivery comes as Gaza faces increasingly dire humanitarian conditions, due to continued hostilities and severe disruptions in supply chains.
Since last week, Jordan has organised four aid convoys to Gaza, with international relief agencies and the JAF. These convoys, mainly carrying essential food items, such as flour, have included a total of 147 trucks – 111 coordinated with the World Food Programme and 36 with the World Central Kitchen.
Jordan is preparing additional shipments, with assurances that the aid will reach and be distributed to those in need.– NNN-PETRA
