TEHRAN, Jul 23 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran strongly condemned Israel, for murdering Palestinians in Gaza, and depriving the coastal enclave’s residents of food, water, medicine and other daily necessities.
In a statement, the foreign ministry expressed deep concern over the exacerbation of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, as a result of the Israeli regime’s “horrific crimes.”
It called on the international community and countries in the West Asia region, to take immediate, effective and decisive actions, to stop the “genocide and reduce the pain and suffering of the oppressed Palestinians.”
Israel’s continuation of Gaza’s “inhumane siege, brutal bombing of the centres sheltering displaced people, and turning places for distributing humanitarian aid into traps, for the targeting and mass killing of hungry and thirsty people, are proof of the cruelty and atrocity of the Zionist Israeli regime and its supporters,” it said.
Gaza’s health authorities said yesterday that, at least 8,268 Palestinians were killed and 30,470 others injured in Gaza, during the period from Israel resuming military operations there on Mar, 18. The death toll now amounted to 59,106 Palestinians, mostly women and children, with 142,511 injured since Oct, 2023, when the Gaza war erupted.
The authorities also reported 15 more deaths, including four children, from starvation and malnutrition, in the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip, raising the death toll by starvation, to 101, including 80 children, since Mar.– NNN-IRNA
