India’s Exports Rose By Nearly Six Percent In Apr-Jun

NEW DELHI, Jul 16 (NNN-PTI) – India’s cumulative exports (merchandise and services) during Apr-Jun, this year, were estimated at 210.31 billion U.S. dollars, a growth of 5.94 percent, year on year, showed the official data released by the federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry, yesterday.

According to it, the cumulative value of merchandise exports during Apr-Jun was 112.17 billion dollars, growing 1.92 percent, year on year.

During the said period, the non-petroleum exports, valued at 94.77 billion dollars, increased by 5.97 percent, as compared to last year.

In a statement, the federal ministry said that, major drivers of the merchandise exports growth included electronic goods, drugs and pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, marine products and meat, dairy and poultry products.

Electronic goods exports increased by 46.93 percent from Jun, last year, to 4.15 billion dollars in Jun, this year.

Drugs and pharmaceuticals exports increased by 5.95 percent, from Jun, last year, to 2.62 billion dollars in Jun, this year, while the engineering goods exports increased by 1.35 percent for the same period.– NNN-PTI
