JAKARTA, Jul 12 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesian players delivered a strong performance at the 2025 ASEAN+ Age Group Chess Championship, bringing home a total of 13 medals from the event held in Penang, Malaysia, according to local media reports, yesterday.
The Indonesian delegation secured six gold, four silver and three bronze medals, across individual and team competitions in the standard, rapid and blitz formats.
Kenny Horasino Bach, emerged as a standout performer, sweeping all three gold medals in the Under-12 category, by winning across all three formats.
Other notable performances came from Satria Duta Cahaya, who captured gold in the blitz event in the Under-20 division, and Ronny Gunawan, who claimed two gold medals in the Senior 65+ category in rapid and blitz chess.
The tournament gathered top young talents from Southeast Asian countries and regions.– NNN-ANTARA
