Qatari, Egyptian PMs Met On Cooperation, Gaza Situation

DOHA, Jul 9 (NNN-QNA) – Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, met here yesterday, with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, to discuss bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

According to a statement issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks focused on investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The discussions also covered the latest developments in the region, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

The statement affirmed the continuation of joint mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt, to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza that would secure the release of prisoners and detainees, and facilitate the entry of aid, to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip.

Both sides also reaffirmed their full support for all regional and international efforts, aimed at de-escalation and the consolidation of stability and peace in the region.– NNN-QNA
