Cambodia Apprehended 12,728 Drug Suspects, With 1.46 Tonnes Of Narcotics In H1 2025

PHNOM PENH, Jul 2 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodia detained 12,728 drug-related suspects, in the first half of this year, up eight percent from 11,780 over the same period last year, said an Anti-Drug Department (ADP) report, today.

Among them are 304 foreigners, including 29 women, the report said.

“A total of 1.46 tonnes of illicit drugs, as well as, 366 kg of dry marijuana, and 12,212 fresh marijuana plants, had been confiscated from those suspects’ possession, during the Jan-Jun period this year,” the report said.

Also, the authorities seized 546 kg of drug ingredients, 32 pistols, 15 rifles, 102 cars, 1,283 motorcycles, 4,578 telephones and 438 scales, as well as, some cash during the raids, the report added.

Most of the confiscated narcotics were ketamine, ecstasy, heroin, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, cocaine, and cathinone, among others.

The nation has no death sentence for illicit drug traffickers. Under its law, those found guilty of trafficking more than 80 grams of illicit drugs could be imprisoned for life.– NNN-AKP
