Indonesia’s South Sumatra Declares Emergency Alert For Forest Fires

JAKARTA, Jun 26 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesia’s South Sumatra provincial government, declared an emergency alert status for haze-related disasters, caused by forest and land fires, ahead of this year’s dry season.

The decision was made based on a forecast from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which predicts the dry season will arrive earlier, around mid-June.
