Cambodia Recorded 2.95 Million Int’l Tourists In Jan-May Period

PHNOM PENH, Jun 21 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodia attracted a total of 2.95 million international tourists in the first five months of this year, up 11.7 percent from 2.64 million in the same period last year, Prime Minister, Hun Manet, said here yesterday.

“This truly shows their confidence in Cambodia’s peace, stability, economic balance, and social security,” he said in a speech, during an event with hundreds of investors and business executives.

The top five markets of arrivals to the kingdom were Thailand, Vietnam, China, the United States and Laos, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

Tourism is one of the four pillars supporting Cambodia’s economy, in addition to garment, footwear and travel goods export, agriculture, and construction and real estate.– NNN-AKP
